She spent a significant amount of her childhood backstage, in audiences, and at the age of three, made her performing debut as Trouble in New York City Opera’s touring production of Madame Butterfly. Melissa reprised this role three years later with Opera Northeast. She was cast as Dorothy in her school’s production of The Wizard of Oz when she was ten years old,and the day she was given the role, she decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actress.
At New York University, Melissa studied acting at Tisch School of the Arts through Playwrights Horizons Theatre School and Stonestreet Studios. She earned her B.F.A. in Theatre and has since appeared in various productions in New York City and around the country.
Tristan Miller, http://www.tristanjmiller.com
Born in the sleepy town of Hendricks, MN, and raised in the sleepier small towns of South Dakota, Tristan began his work of storytelling at home from an early age. Encouraged by his parents, he and his sisters joined theatre troupes, studied art, wrote poems, and generally lived an idyllic life of young people interested in the arts. In 2013, Tristan graduated from NYCDA in New York City. Two years later, he received a diagnosis of Bipolar II Disorder. It was then that he began his podcast “Positive and Negative,”
went into therapy, and began performing stand-up comedy.
Tristan has had one desire all his life, that of telling stories. Whether it be fictional stories through acting, his story through stand-up comedy and poetry, or letting others tell their story on his podcasts, Tristan believes that stories are the key to understanding humanity. It is through stories that we can achieve the joyful sanctity of empathy.
